Have anyone moved their leaf springs over? How do you mini tub with the leaf springs in the way? Will offset shackles do the job, they make them for Nova's. I measured their leafs & it 3 inches wide. My comet is 2.5 inches wide so do you think this will work. A place called WWW.DETROITSPEED.COM sell these shackles. They said it would not work but I can't see why not. Need help moving the springs about 1.5 inches.

I've seen guys weld an open bottom box-like structure to the inside of their subframes and just move the springs over.

Personally I dont think you need mini tubs on these cars with stock suspension. It dosent really get you much for the time and effort spent. My tires are less than 1/4 away from the spring and have no rubbing issues at all. They are 255r60x15. Offset shackles wont work because it will put the springs at an angle other than perpendicular to the axle and nothing will bolt up right, besides putting a lot of binding on the front mount.
