Just today girlfriend and i were cruisen through town and spotted a 72 or so comet.I pulled in to look it is parked at a bodyshop and looks kinda rough. So im thinkin it must be someones thats going to be restored its brown, sport mirrors,Bucket seats, hood scoop, and 302 with 3 spd.on the floor, cragers flat tires kind of rusty car needs TLC pretty straight car very restorable,So the guy that owns it comes out.we started to talk about the car hes a ford guy i could tell by all the other mustangs that were around. He says hed like to keep it and put a 429 in it to dragrace im thinkin well good luck.(i wouldnt cut it up for that)so he says well i do have a nice 72 comet ill sell 302 c-4 car$1500.so we talk some more about cars then i ask do you wanna part the 3 spd comet no he says.then he says well make me an offer.thats were im stuck not sure what its worth it be a great original resto ride.any help?
You will have to decide what it is worth. A rusty car can be big bucks to repair if you cant do it yourself. No repair panels are available. Same goes for interior stuff. Sounds like it could be a nice car but depending on how rusty it is, I probably wouldnt pay more than a grand.
Thats what im thinking.$500 would be nice. Its one of those things i want the car.But i have now were for it to sit and ive all ready got one.Id just like to see it go to a good home.mabey someone on here might want it?Never know.
