The underside of the small bumper car is basically the same as the big bumper car. What little difference there is dosent matter because the small bumpers bolt on a bracket that welds to the inside of the trunk where as the big bumpers bolt to the rear frame crossmember. Then the rear valance (which big bumper cars dont have) will cover up the old mounting holes.

    Nice car!

I too removed the old LARGE bumpers and went with the small ones. You can use either metal or fiberglass, I used the fiberglass because of weight but that costed me about $160 for both bumpers. Please don't change the color I think the comb is sharp!
Good luck on finding that rear valance, if you need help just email me they are a lot of Mavericks and Comets here in the Shenandoah Valley.

    Comets for sell

Their is one here that I know of, it's been sitting for a while and I'm not real sure of the total condition. I can check on it if you would like me to it’s only a ¼ mile from my house, you could also call the owner and talk to him if you like. His name is Cory Miller of Cory Miller Race Engines a big ford man, his phone number is 540-433-0545. Also I’m going to try to go to Eastside Speedway today (if weather permits) and I can ask the ford guys there if they know of any. Are you looking for a parts car or daily driver?

Relic, my digital camera is broke so I can’t get you a photo of the car with the bumpers on. Here is a shot from behind without. I will post a finished photo as soon as I can.
