I'll bet there is a 99.9% chance you will not find a toploader for $200. You can convert to a 3 speed manual. They are a dime a dozen. I have thrown many away. Its a good transmission. Then when you get the money, a toploader will be a bolt in swap.

You will not find a useable T5 for $200. I think a 3 speed would be in your best intrests. If you can't find a 3 speed then you ain't lookin. ;)

    How old are you?

Hard to believe you cant find a 3 speed. Find a local Mustang club. I'm sure you can find someone there that can locate one.

4 cylinder T5's will work, but you'll have to get a special pilot bushing/bearing as the input shaft is different size than a V8 T5. Just don't hammer on it too much. They usually last a while (4 cylinder T5) behind a V8, but powershifting and limiter-launches on slicks will kill 'em quick!

Rx7351W put a SROD in his maverick, changed it over to cable clutch setup.Says it's ok,I think he's running 4.11's out back.I'd get it and keep my eye out for a GOOD T5(good ones around here usually go for $400-600.)
