Since I did my brake/spindle swap, I've noticed an extremely high pitched (I'm ultrahighfrequency sensitive) noise coming from the passenger front wheel. If I turn the steering a little to the left, it goes away, if I tap the brakes, it goes away. I've taken the pads off and coated them in anti-squeal, that fixed my low speed noises but this is something different. Does anyone think this could be my (new) wheel bearings?
Could be, or a sticking caliper. I am guessing that you switched to discs. Does it stop when you hit the brakes? If not a caliper pull the wheels and check the bearings for heat after parking it. Seth
you can also "pack" the bearings "too" tight. this makes the rollers in the bearing "slide" and not roll. are these new bearings and how tight did you tighten the nut? did you get any "grease" on the pads? i take 180 grit sand paper and a flat surface and scuff the pad face before i install them. ...frank...
[/QUOTE] I'm getting to the point Frank! Excessive heat on that side vs. the other side is what I meant to say. Maybe he has some mismatched parts or bad bearings or they are too tight.
Yes, I think it has something to do with your 'new' wheel bearings (since it 'goes away' when you turn the wheel). Please keep us updated so we can refer back to this thread when someone else has a similar problem.
