Just got off of fordsix.com, signed up, prowled around, great stuff. Argie(Argentina) heads. Lots of talk, lots of no real info. Looks like they are actually available, sort of. Looks like they are stuff for the Shelby maverick. Just as elusive. 300 horses from a 250(sounds possible). Since I have 3 sixes(one 200, two 250's) I'm intrigued. Since I have the plan set for the 289 in the '70 and most of the parts, down to the HIPO 289 emblems for the quarter panels, and the car shop I just rented, I now need a plan for a kickass 6 for the Comet. I know some guys from here have been on fordsix for a long time. Is ANYONE in the US verifiably running this head? Is anyone on here going to be running this head if it exists? Have I made anyone drool? lol.
pretty sure The Shelby reference is tongue in cheek, I'm pretty sure they actually exist, I think a couple guys on fordsix are actually working on getting them in cars, but saw nothing on anything actually running. The big hangup seems to be that they need custom intake and exhaust, supposedly being worked out. FSPP, FordSix Performance Parts, lists them as coming soon with intake and exhaust, but I think that's a long running thing, about $450 for the bare head. More drool fodder, there's supposed to be a long tradition of racing these motors in Argentina with 300+ HP, they had a Ford motor plant that made this motor for a long time I guess. FSPP is also developing his own head, but who knows if or when. Both aluminum by the way. Next project will definitely be a six even if I just use the Aussie head or a turbo. Rather have something rare though.
