rebuilding door hinges

    from the factory i noticed, both ends of the pin are pressed, how do you get this affect when rebuiding door hinges? the rebuild kit just shows the pin goin through the bottom:huh:

    Your not going to use a flairing tool on a solid steel pin. Not to mention you have to flair it after it is installed. The only way I know of is to install the pin, heat the straight end up until its cherry red, then take a large center punch and flair it with that. Make sure the other end is on something solid. An extra pair of hands makes this alot easier.

    When I Cut Mine Down To Size I Drilled A 1/8 " Hole In The Center Then Installed The Pin And Took A Centerpunch And Mushroomed It
