:confused:hi, new here. thought i would join up here and get some info. i am looking to buy a 1972 comet gt i have found. it is all original the original owner still owns it. 27,000 miles original nice red paint and perfect original white interior. still has original tires. what is it worth? i cant get a price out of him he wants me to make an offer. any help would be nice. thanks tim. taylor3914@bellsouth.net
Wow ... sounds nice ... You didn't indicate the engine or tranny ... but I would say if it is in almost mint condition anything under $5,000 is a good deal ... Making an offer is tough ... you don't want to insult him but you also want to get an idea if he knows what it is worth to the right person. Personally ... if it was just about mint I would offer him $3,000 and work from there ...
The 27,000 miles makes it a time capsule-depending on your view of antique cars. We have a member here who bought a '72 GT from it's original owner. It had more than 27,000 miles, all original with white interior and the original 302 V8. It seems like he paid about $4,500-I could be off there. That was about 3 yrs. ago or so. I would say that it is easily worth $5K with a 302 and probably in the $3,500 range with an original 6 cyl. I would love to see pics. Seth
