I finally got the motor back in the car

    You have to use the standard pedal assembly.I know you have seen the power ones,what a screwed up side ways engineered mess that is.As far as making these to sell,life is to short,I'm on to other things now.Besides,I don't want to rob anyone else of all the fun I had trying to figure this out.LOL .Truthfully,I didn't make a template of my final bracket,and I thought about it after I put it in,and after I had it in I was not going to take it all back apart,my bad(old age strikes again)
    Doing this conversion almost made me say some very bad words.

    Did I mention as part of this conversion I changed over the clutch assembly to accept a cable for the T-5 that I'm putting in.That was pretty easy too.All you need is a Fox Body Mustang pedal assembly,take out the clutch pedal with its shaft,slide it back into place on the Maverick pedal support,add some bushings,trim the bracket that holds the windshield wiper motor for clearence around the quadrant.I think in one of my pictures you can see the hole I drilled for the firewall adjuster just above where the throttle cable (square hole) penetrates the firewall.This was so simple,I'm surprised more people haven't tried it.

    Hey Greybeard, Is that a Griffin 22x19 radiator? Does it have that crazy kicked up bottom inlet? If so let me know what hose you wind up using, I've cut up 3 and still have not found one that will work the way I want it to. I may have to go with that flexible steel stuff. By the way, Great looking engine compartment....you should be proud......now just to keep it clean!!!

    MiteeMaverick-Funny you should ask about that lower hose connection,I looked at that when I got it and thought whoa,why is that turned up on such a weird angle.I haven't bought the hose yet,but I have a 90 degree elbow (thin wall stainless steel)that when I hold it up to the connection and water pump inlet looks like it might work,I think I'll have to trim it slightly.Then all I have to do is use two straight sections of hose,maybe 3-4 inches long on each end.I wanted to put a section of hard pipe in anyway because,there is no drain supplied on the radiator.I don't know if they forgot to weld a threaded connection in or they just wanted to be cheap.I will weld in a 3/8" half coupling in the bottom of the 90 and add a drain petcock.
    By the way,how do you like your Tri-Y headers?Mine fit really good,except on the passenger side the main collector,I think its 3",is kicked to the center a little to much.Is yours like that?The other thing that I have found over the years,I've used Tri-Y's before,is if you add about another 18" of straight pipe(same size)before you reduce down,you can pick up another 10 horses.This also gives you enough room to add an X pipe cross-over.To do that,start your car and let your exhaust get hot,be careful when you do this,but take a can of regular spray paint and spot some paint on the 3" section,when you get to an area that the paint does not immediately burn,that is where you need to mark and cut in your cross-over.Low tech,I know but it does work.This is the area that your exhaust gases are starting to cool and become denser,which helps balance the flow between pulses.I think it makes the exhaust note sound better also,especially at speeds between 50-70 mph.I think it eliminates the drone you get with a free-flowing exhaust when you cruise at a steady speed.
    I don't know if you want to add the X but I like them.

    My Tri-Ys are original Shelby headers I lucked up with on E-bay and they fit great although they do make contact with the steering arm on the drivers side just slightly, when I got them they had the thermactor bung on the collectors so I cut it off and added about 12 inches to each one and used a Dr.Gas X pipe I had laying around. I really like the sound and torque of these headers and with the other vintage stuff I have on my engine they kinda fit right in. About the radiator I don't know what their reason was for pointing that inlet up like that it makes picking the right hose a B****! I'm going tomorrow to scrounge the junk yard for some of those radiator supports I think they came on Torinos and some other full size cars also, Thanks for your advise. Jerry
