He's a much safer driver now. He has had his current vehicles for about three years without incident. I don't think I can swing the WA mini meet this weekend (maybe next year), but that Reno trip does sound like a possibility. Hmmm. Just out of curiosity, and I know that I can probably find this in searching the forums, but how well does an 80s mustang 5.0 w/ EFI work in these things? I would probably need the computer, but is there anything else major that would be needed? I was just wondering because I think the fuel injection would be a plus, not to mention that one of those motors could probably be found pretty cheap. Hope this isn't too OT. Thanks for all of your hearty welcomes.
There are several guys here running EFI. EFIMAV and Rick Book come to mind, theres a few more. I think Rick's car is drag only. Best thing I can tell ya is run a search and find a member that is running EFI on the street and they should be able to answer your questions. From what I have read, 87 and up motors are the best to use in a street car, but I wouldn't pass up any good deal. EFI is one of those things I want to do "some day".
MavMark has done it also, and is really good about documenting his mods. You can check out his website at www.maverickcomet.com, he can usually be found on here from time to time or on his website in the chat area. Best thing to do would be do just do search on here, it has been talked about before. Sounds like a great mod!
All right, pictures have arrived. Nothing special, but gives a bit of an idea of what I am starting with. I really need to tarp it off and bug bomb it sometime soon. The wasps have several dozen nests in it. Anyway, with all the wedding plans and changing jobs, I'm not sure where this will fit in for awhile, but this is the beginning. These were taken in low light so sorry for the color and quality issues. That's it for now. What do you all think? I think I have my work cut out for me.
