I'm fortunate enough to have made it out from Plaquemines Parish (basically where the storm hit landfall). Crappy thing is that I only packed a couple of things due to being in that sort of habit for a hurricane. You know 'Oh this wont be the big one, we're just gonna get some winds'. My house is gone, my job is gone, and last but not least, the 76 maverick i had bought is gone. So I'm in Baton Rouge as of now with the possessions i made it out with that could fit in my car. I dunno where or how to start over again, as many of the people thats in the same boat im in.
I am at a loss for words about the whole situation down there. All you can do is pray and use your "Maverick" attitude to move forward. I am sure with persaverance you will be back on top soon.
absolutly sorry to hear that, you have people all over the states donating money and praying for you, there will alaways be mavericks out there to purchase, glad your ok
I'm sorry for your losses but I'm glad you made it out ok. Tomorrow I'm headed to the store where I'm going to buy a pickup-load of bottled water and deliver it to my National Guard unit so they can ship it down there to you folks. Take care and God Bless. Sam
Please except our prayers and if there is anything Wilbur and I can do for you, please feel free to contact us. We care. Susan
Yeah there will always be another maverick to buy, i just feel thats the link to yall I'd like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers Thank god the military has finally stepped in, im watching the news right now and it seems things are starting to brighten up a little. Kudos to all you military personale!
That is truly horrible and I am saddened to hear of your loss. I would like to offer some words of encouragement though. What you lost were just "things". You were fortunate enough to escape with your life, and although it will be a painstaking process, you will recover (you can't do that if you're dead) and life will go on. You will find a new job, get another house, and find another Maverick, if you want to. Try your best to have a positive attitude and rise above this adversity. Things can be replaced (even though it can sometimes take much time and effort) but people can't...
Very well said, good luck, and many prayers out to you and the rest of those affested by this tradegy.
bsboykin; I hope all goes well for you. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers, with all the folks in the same situation.
I'm very sorry to hear of your situation and hope and pray that things will get better real soon. In the meantime, can you tell us a bit more about yourself, like what kind of work you do? If some of us hear of anything that fits your background we could pass along your information. Do you have a wife and kids? Are you living with relatives? Are you in a hotel? Other? Do you have relatives to go to? Do you and your family need clothing or articles that can be shipped where you'd receive them? Hang tough and don't too proud or too shy to ask for necessities. I'm sure there are members on this board who can provide you with some of what you need. Rick
