That all is extremely helpful guys, :) After looking at everything I beleive that yes the torque converter is bolted on but from all this and talking to a few people I know I am lead to theink that the filter is not letting the trans fluid into the trans, when I pulled the dip stick the fluid was halfway up the stick when the engine was cold, when its cold it should only be at the very end right? so when I get some time I will drop the pan and change the filter and see how that works for me, again thanks all for the info :) !

When you check the fluid, the car should be fully heated up and idleing in park.

The converter may not be in the transmission completely.
Had this happen. it wouldn't engage the pump, therefor no motion.
It ended up costing me a broken flywheel also because the bellhousing bolts had back out... causing the converter to come out of the pump...
    blah blah blah
Wasn't a very fun fix at all.
    Hope yours is something simpler

If I paid a mechanic to do the work ... I wouldn't even get my hands dirty troubleshooting ... it would be right back with the mechanic ....

if you are going to change the filter yourself then watch out there is a little spring under the filter ear. if you don't put it in with the lil plastic piece going into the tranny then you will burn it up. i did it and had to pay 375 for a rebuild.
