Welcome to the 650 world. Saw many people have a problem with them. We just got rid of one after chasing a lean stumble by doing everything from pump shot, nozzle change, power valve changes, flost level changes, main jets. Nothing helped in a light 1800 lb 5 speed car with a 5L carbed, world headed, cam, custom electronic ignition. Oherwise the car is a killer on acceleration with an E cam that is now just being changed to a Crane 2020 and not tested yet.
this is not demon related at all, but my maverick had exact same problem, then i rebuit my single barrel carb and all that went away
It is done! 4 corner idle system takes a bit to get use to. All I can say is WOW! It has the throttle repsonse that I really enjoyed with my Predator..
So you're liking that carb then I take it? Have you had a chance to really open it up since the new cam went in somewhere with traction so you don't just fry the tires off? It starts to pull reeeeeally hard above about four grand and all the way through seven. I lashed mine a little tight too for a bit of extra lift.
I had the butterflies open too far and not using the idle mixture screws enough to control the idle. Slightly rich at idle now, but with the new motor I plan on being a bit rich for a while. Ray, the cam has been in my motor for a while. But I will say that the addition of the RPM heads with the cam are a great compliment. The car launches very hard from the stall at about 2600. No tire spin to speak of but neck jerking accceleration. From a standing start, no powerbrake, the car just launches. No wheel spin at all. I have only short-shifted it at about 5500rpms and it sure wanted to go much higher. 200 miles and counting!! Infineon has a bracket series coming soon! They do not hold test-n-tunes at all! :-(
No test and tune or grudge night? Weird. 5500? It's just waking up at that point. You're going to love it!
Infineon, the former Sears Point, has a bit of an ego! They do run a Wednesday Night Drags with about 300 cars showing up! Lucky to get one run in beofre your dial, then you run and break out (new car just playing with it), and pay $25.00 to buy into jackpot for your third round! Not much of a test and tune to me!
