Re: My Comet GT..And you Craig!

.. are you the guy who bought the dark green Comet GT from the
original owner somewhere near Elkin, NC ?

I noticed that the tires and wheels are different. If so, looking good.

Craig, that sucks. You have done lots to help people with these cars, myself included. I hope that is the last time.

Craig, I need the plastic piece that supports the Comet grill
in the center. It holds the grill with 2 screws in the front and
is bolted to the metal support that attaches to the bottom of the hood latch assembly. The piece that I need also has a mounting
prong on the bottom. That piece is broken on mine. Do you or
    anyone else have one?

    Thanks-

I forget, does the EFI HAVE to have non-standard shock tower braces?

Can anyone tell what the ones in the pic are from? Are they home-fabbed?

    Thanks,

    Rick

Standard Maverick braces will not clear the EFI setup. It's pretty simple to come up with a kit that will work if you don't have power brakes. The one in the pic looks like it is from something else with a little fab work to me.

    Thanks GS,

Looks like I'll be posting powder coated shock-tower braces to the classifieds then.

The braces in the pic are custom made by the owner . He simply bent the barstock to shape, flattened the ends and drilled them on the firewall end ,then welded them to the shock mounts on the other end...notice the metel bar that ties all four mounting points together at the firewall .

Yeah it is the car from Sparta N.C. The wheels really changed the looks of the car . Hows it going on yours ? You sent me Pics of it a couple months ago. later Tim
