 I ve been looking for the parts to change P/S to manual but everywhere i look lists different centerlinks etc for doff years or 75-77 M/S or P/S is the same but diff than earlier show 2 numbers....My ques cant i just get the 75-77 stuff and bolt it in its been a long time since i ve tinkered with these but i thought that all are the same (mines a 71 with P/S)

Now the second ques is about the discs...ive got what i believe to be 74 spindles if i remember that disc (calipers etc) are shared with the must II and it was different than later disc set-ups, is there any real diff if Im replacing everything rotors bearing calipers etc? and is there any diff $$$ wise performance/stopping between 74 and 75-77 ? thanks in advance for all thoughts insights and help....dont want to get something and then ........:smash: Dooohhh! i should have gotten the other because of some small advantange over the other.

    Thanks again

    Robb

Maverick front disc brake interchange with Granada/Monarch. I don't think M2 parts are interchangable.

yeah... what he said. spindles are out there. lots of them. just have to look around and be patient. ebay is a good source for those. also right here in the parts wanted section. best off finding a granada or monarch in a yard though. if you are lucky the yard boss doesn't know what they are worth and will let them go for well under 90 bucks. wait till the weather cools off. been my experience that cars part prices come down as the weather cools off. :2cents:

i know that the spindles dont. I already have 74 spindles with the caliper brakets... I was speaking about the 74's calipers if i remember right the mustang II's use the same. My ques was what was the difference between the 74 and the 75-77 brakes if any. Thanks Robb

I have only "read" about the differences. I have never "seen" a difference.

ya know.... the easiest way to tell for sure is go to rockauto.com. find the calipers for your mav. note the part number. then look for the calipers for the mustang in question. same part number?...( i doubt it. let us know!)

yeah same part numbers between M II's & Mav's does anyone know if the suspension parts from the 75 and later Mav's will fit the earlier 71 and up Mav's (centerlinl idler arm etc....PST lists different #'s and huge difference in price if even available was just wondering if I could, or if anyone had already, bolt in a complete 75 and later frontend into a 71....older ones list different part # for manual and Power centerlinks where as 75-77 lists the same for power or man. DOes anyone know if its a major difference between them or if i order all "75-77" parts would it make a difference?? anyone been there done that??

I to have wondered about cross model and year parts....I just order the hollander manual
for the 1965 to 1979 interchange. Hopefully this has all the parts and cross reference
to models and years. That is what it claims. I'll let you guys know when it arrives.

    robb,
i dropped the compleate front end from under a '75 and bolted it to my (m.a.v.s) '71. i got everything from the pitman arm to the spindles, rotors and cali.then i replaced everything new except the spindles and drag link. i had everything i needed to do the swap and i asked for '75 mav. parts when i went to get anything. cost about $100 more but there was no guessing as to what part was what...frank...:bouncy:

Did anyone clear up the question about spindle differences?
I have spindles from a '76 and good rotors and calipers from
a '74-thank you Stephen Moore. Am I going to have a matching
    problem?

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
    \

you can put in a 75 and up in your 71 but if your going with a 75-77 center link you'll need a differant ilder arm too. you'll need very part from that year.. the inner tie rods etc. (sorry not everything the outers are the same) but 74 and below are differant on everything else.

i just found out this becuase i found out my 75 has a 74 centerlink... i've compared everything at the parts counter too ;) they are differant!

if you are going to change with the 75 its is a better design due to the differant and improved idler arm.

    hope this info helps

seth i'll say the same as earlier. go to rockauto.com and ented your year the spindles came from. check caliper part number. then go to the year of your calipers and see if it is the same part. uhhh far as i know they match.
hmmm.... maybe i'll do it my self. the curiosity is killing me!

not curious any more...if you ask for a caliper for either a 74 or 76 they'll send you the same part!

Yes thanks Maverick Man & 71 Gold it helps alot, especially that the "newer"(75-77) parts are cheaper. I didnt know if Ford had moved or changed anything(mounting points etc.) that would have made it difficult to swap. You guys are the greatest! Thanks again!
