so i went to the big swap meet at englishtown today...looking for 2 more decent ansens and of course to exchange the bumper i picked up at last years' swap meet from bumper boyz. you may have heard me bash them here. well my 1 year old bumper was getting these lil pits in the plating... lil rust spots. they sure enough brought me a new bumper. turns out it is a lot straighter than the old one. they were pleasant and cheerful... apologizing for the inconvenience. i almost felt like a bit of a jerk for trashing them. then... the guy who was so nice said something in spanish to one of his workers. (guys are from L.A.) what he didn't know is that this white boy understands spanish! he told his guy to clean it up... buff out the rust spots, wax it and resell it as new. i think i also picked up a couple explicatives made on my behalf. as the guy who was told to clean up my old bumper opened my new one to show it to me i said "como esta? otro dia misma mierde?" which in english is " how are you? same sh*t different day huh?" "wow. i didn't know you spoke spanish!" if you call them for a small mav bumper.. it could have been mine. but now it's yours.
I have a bumper from them so far so good it is about a year and a half since it was refurbished. You get what you pay for though they were pretty inexpensive compared to most. I know proctor and gamble here in cincinnati wanted 319.99 a bumper for triple plate chrome. I lived in pheonix fir a year and picked up alot of spanish as well. It is amazing what a white boy can hear when mexican's think we do not understand. LOL.
Mee TOOO Tengo numero tres de Bumper Boyz en mi Comet GT ahora. And it isn't even on the road yet. Seth
Bought one rear bumper from Bumper Boyz - the chrome flaked off after 3 months - no copper plating underneath. They nickel & chromed right over the rust. No wonder they're so cheap.
