Forgot to add, from what I can see in the pics, I would estimate the front end damage at at least $1000.00 to repair. The bumper could be salvaged and replated. The bumper brackets, valance and stonegaurd are all probably not nice enough to mess with. The hood would be hard to repair without painting the entire panel, but could be blended on the drivers side and burnt into the middle area. Also with that kind of damage, the grill probably has some damage that is unseen.

I agree with Dan on the repairs this Grabber would need. The only thing that bugs me about blending the paint on the hood is that Ford did not clear coat the cars back then. When we blend panels we paint and blend what needs to be done and clear coat the rest of the panel. Without actually seeing the paint condition, it would hard to say for sure if the paint would match. It also appears to have a slight dent in the blacked out part of the hood. I would not even try to blend that. Aside from that, it looks like a really great, original car. I know I would'nt mind having it. Anyone got a couple thousand bucks they could loan me?:)

I think I could massage the dent out of the black area of that hood. Since the paint on the car is original acrylic enamel, I would use a blending agent from dupont. That is how we used to do it. Dont see much enamel nowadays, but the blending agent is still available from dupont. Also thinking about the dented black area of the hood, I am pretty sure I could get that baby very straight without removing any paint. It is amazing what you can do if you want to spend some time planning how to move the metal, and then taking all the time in the world to do it. Doesnt pay to do it, but if time is on your side and with that car being that original, I would opt to do it that way.

Sounds like Dan Starnes has just about talked himself into buying it. We call that "Bauer Disease". :D

That hood dent is an easy fix for any decent body shop. I had a grabber hood with far worse damage than that and it was fixed.

As for the rest; just need a front valance and some brackets. Can't really see the condition of the grill--it may be fine. The paint will be the most expensive part of the repair...

The guy's trying to be a salesman & it sounds like he is just turning the car for profit. His opening bid is probably close to what the car is worth, even though there are 0 bids to this point. He redundently uses the term "Awsome" to desribe the car. Very nice original Grabber though.

    So far away!

Why does it seem like some of the nicer cars that I have seen, are in Calif, Arizona, Florida, or Washington state? I have done some road trips before, but this one is a little out of reach from Ohio! :(

I just wish I had the patience to keep looking for a Grabber like the ones that have been showing up on eBay lately. I jumped on the first decent looking Grabber I found and it was nowhere near as solid as these cars we have been seeing lately ... Dan

Go for it Dan! Sounds like a nice road trip.

I'm working again, so I wouldn't have time to go as far as California. Well...maybe...Easter weekend! lol
