Are you referring to the hoses that come out of the firewall? If so, they are your heater hoses. If they are blocked off, you have a heater core that's leaking. You need to replace the heater core & the hoses...

I bet, if you look close, the hose goes from the water pump to the intake manifold. This is what people do, so they can drive the car. You just won't have heat in the car...

Like Merccruizers said, You need to get a new heater core and hoses. The heater core probably started leaking and someone just pulled it and the hoses.

defrosters are a handy thing in the fog.unless you are never going to be driving in bad weather.i would install a new heater core just in case as soon as you can afford it.if you ever get caught in a cold rain storm you will see what i mean.

anything is better than nothing.do a little research changing a heater core is really not all that difficult, then if you ever get in a colder area you will have heat.you have time to do it check ebay they are pretty cheap at the moment.

i bet someone on the forum has a car with a/c they are parting out, check the parts ads. my mav has nothing in the heater area because the last owner was going to just race it so now i have to put everything back in.

I have an a/c heater box with both cores and the blower still in it. Cant say the cores are any good but it did come from a recently wrecked car. Its out of a 71 Comet. If interested you can email me at jcrowl1@columbus.rr.com

yes but the a/c / heater box is a whole different monster....you have to switch the whole unit to change it over to a/c. Even the heater core is different on it. i think the only thing that will work on the a/c box from the heater box is the fan motor
