Finally got around to installing my floor shifter today ...

Entire project took 2 hours and 45 minutes thanks to Ed's ingenius conversion bracket! See here: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=16669

I don't have any early pictures of me lining up the riser and cutting the hole because my camera batteries were charging ... But basically the riser only really fits a specific section of the hump so its pretty easy to figure out where it goes .... used a hole saw and a sawsall to cut through the floor.

All I have left to do is smooth out the steering column. I also found out that the pointer on the shift handle is missing so I have to get one of those too ..

    Here are some pics ...

Looks great!! Let us know how long it takes to shift the car without grabbing air where the old shifter used to be first.

The little shift indicator that bolts to the lever is the same as a Mustang. I guess it is supposed to be clear with red markings? Not sure ...

Anyway ... nobody reproduces these things and nobody appears to have an NOS one either. If anybody has a trashed shifter they aren't using with the correct little indicator that bolts onto the lever I sure could use it .... Thanks ....

The part # is C9ZZ-7a110-A if anyone has access to a stash of NOS parts ...

69 - 73 Mustangs ..... Thanks for the compliments guys ... I like look of the stock floor shifter so I waited patiently until I found a complete setup ... Notice that it came out of a Vomit Green car! :)

dan, thanks for the compliment.ingenius, i thought i was just being lazy:huh: .i did not want to take apart the transmission.glad it worked for you. i just took a shifter out of a 76 mustang looks real close to that, i will check the part numbers. i'm also needing the same part i will let you know if it works.

Thanks Ed ... did you get the PM? It looks like there is not supposed to be a bushing on the lever from all the pictures I have seen ... strange Ford didn't put a bushing there ...
