Well, it looks like I will begin to build my motor this week! I can't wait to get it in. Just curious, how loud will straights that turn down in front of the rear axle be? I want this car LOUD!!:D ;) I am in need of the power steering drop bracket though, so if you have an extra let me know. I also want to install a ratchet shifter, so again if you have one, let me know. Thanks, and wish me luck!

straight pipes dumped at the rear end will be plenty loud, speaking from experience.

Just my opinion but I dont recommend turndowns in front of the axle for 2 reasons. Primarily exhaust can seep into your car especially when stopped or at low speeds. Secondly, if you go to car shows that are on grassy/dirt areas you will kick up a dust storm like you cant believe and will probably piss off everyone around you. You should at least run them out from under the car for safty reasons.

    Hadn't thought of that...

Well, we'll figure something out. I hadn't thought of that though. At least I know that it'll be loud!:p Thanks, Preston

had a buddy once with a relitively stock 289 pwrd 67 stang.

He used 2 chamber flowmasters turned at the axles. It was ungodly loud in a good way---it was a little on the loud side. A built motor would be too much.

I have turndowns on my mav using dynomax which are much quiter (I was on a budget) However, the drone still tends to fill up everything in the pass cabinet.

mavaholic is right on the money. A good way to piss off everybody at a car show is to have turndowns kicking up dirt all over everyones beautiful cars, not too mention the fumes inside.

If you are set on the loud, you can get 1 chamber flowmasters, and send those up and over the axle to the bumper. WIth a good motor, it should be quite the sound you are looking for

I have the 40 series or is it 50 series Flowmasters on mine. The exhaust is 3" with turndowns at the differential. It is ungodly loud and will be changed before the car returns to action. They are right about it kicking up crap,, my car kicks up dust even on the street. So it will return with full exhaust when it gets done sometime next year. As far as the fumes go,, they have never bothered mebothered mebothered mebothered mebothered mebothered mebothered mebothered mebothered mebothered mebothered me
