I have a buddy that is in my car club here in Jonesboro, he has a 62 Fairlane made up like a Thunderbolt.....anyway he is the type that is never satified with anything and will go and buy something before really having a plan or imagining how something would look. He rescenly bought a bunch of Ford Motorsports dress up stuff and then had it on his car for about a month and then descided he wanted a nostagic look and bought a bunch of old Cal-Custom stuff, anyway he sold about 500.00 worth of the Motorsports stuff to me a few months ago for 90.00 and I resold it............OK now todays story. When he bought the car about 9 months ago it had a new set of Weld Pro Star rims on it with new tires, he descided after about a month he wanted some Torque thrusts on it and smaller tires, so 1100.00 later he has them. He drove the car about 3 months to local shows, (about 400 miles) and then descides he wants some other rims and tires. He offered the Torque Thrusts to me last week for 500.00, rims and tires WHAT A DEAL......wait it gets better.....I saw him today and he was telling me he just got a new aluminium radiator for it and wanted it put on for tomorrows car show but the guy at the hot rod shop couldn't do it today. Well I offered to do it and he says if you can get me going by tonight you can have those rims and tires!!!!! After I got up from the floor, I started on his car and I had the radiator in after about 2 hours, I had to fab up some mounts and shorten a hose and that was it! also as I was leaving he said Oh, I have something else you may want and opens a cabinet and hands me an almost new Edelbrock carb that was originally on his car, he said it wouldn't run right on his car but after he ordered a new one and put it on he found out he had an intake leak.............. (y) :biglaugh:needless to say I'm his best friend now!!! The tires that are on the rims are a little to tall for me they are 235-60-15s I'm gonna go with 195-70-15 for the front and what would someone suggest for the back?, they are 7 inch rims.

I'd keep the 235/60-15s for the back and put 215/60-15s on the front. Forget '70's.

The 215/60s are 25 inches tall and the 235/60s are 26 inches tall. That is what I plan to put on my Maverick next time...

    Man, that is so sweet!

The height is perfect in the rear, but they are either too skinny, or set in too far... can't decide.
The front looks a little stuffed in there. Probably a combo of a hair too wide and tall.
Personally, I would use 215s up front and 245/60 or even 255/60 out back.
Or you could keep the rears as-is and put a 67-70 Stang 9" under there so the tires fill out the wheel wells a little better. ;)

    Great score!

Those tires are way skinny, they are 2 inches narrower than the 235-60-14s I had on the back and for my taste way too tall, I'm trashing these tires and going with something shorter and wider on the back and shorter and narrower on the front. These will make good trailer tires. ;)

I don't think it is very fair of you to take advantage of somone who apparently suffers some cognitive difficulties, regardless of their financial ability.:tsk::eek::rolleyes:;):D

Congratulations on the acquisitions and the looks of the car with those wheels.(y)

They are not narrower at all. A 235/60-15 is EXACTLY the same width as a 235/60-14, but 1 inch taller. The sidewall is exactly the same height as well.

The 215s (which I suggested for the front) are only 3/4-inch narrower than the 235s. You really shouldn't go any wider than a 245/60 on a 7-inch rim, and that will be even taller (about 26-5/8 inches)...
