I was sorting through my pics files last night and found a zip file
containing several jpegs of this car.

It had to be over 2 yrs. ago that we saw this.
I remember there being quite a bit of discussion as to the value
of this car. I can't remember if it was on E-bay or another website.
It seems like is sold for around $4,200 and several here thought that
was outrageous for a non-Grabber car.

I wonder what peoples reaction would be now?
Anyone know where this one is now?

    I'd give $4200 for. When I bought my car I thought I got a
decent deal for a completly original '71 v8 car with low miles.
As I've gotten older I appreciate cars much more. I never owned
a Ford car in my life. Diehard Chevy guy all the way. But hey,
Mavericks look nice, so why not have one.

I still think it's not worth $4200, but that doesn't matter because someone out there will pay it...

    Derrick,
I am disappointed in you again. I clicked on her picture and it
    doesn't get any bigger!

    What's wrong with you?

Of course its worth it... if you like Mavericks. What would $4200 pay for during a resoration? Not even decent bodywork/paint.

That was a nice car ... too bad they didn't remove that gawdy white LDO trim down the side before they painted it ....

    I remember it too

I called about that car a few years ago, I think it was in Oklahoma. The guy told me it would take 4500.00 to take it off e-bay. I think the seats were a little rough and a door panel was tweaked a little but it was really sweet everywhere else. I happen to like the wide mouldings but thats just me......after all what do I know I drive a Maverick

    I agree completely.

Also; the interior of that car was not all that great, which was one of the reasons I didn't think it was worth that much. In any case, it's a nice Maverick, but not a complete restoration.

Dan, your Grabber blows that car away in every aspect. That's a real restoration, with upgrades in all the right places (where no one sees them)...

"To each his own" LDO trim looks good to me.

sorry what was i thinking? (slaps himself in the head)

    http://www.maverickman.com/yellowmavmonique.jpg

i have to defend both.. since i do own one with the LDO trim still on it i think i got the right to stick my two sence in! :p

yes i think its ugly  but at the same time its right to the period of the car so thats why i leave it. my neighbor said "wow you don't see cars with this type of tirm on it anymore these days"... so yes though ugly i think its cool! that goes for the ugly striped green interior on my yellow maverick as well! oh yeah i think i asked a bunch of you guys if you thought i should pull the tirm off my car.. i think it was only 2 on here that said take it off! take it off! take if off! ooppss sorry i got carried away!

now that don't mean one day i'll take off the LDO trim one day..... but also think about this... how many LDO mavericks are really around theses days? think about that one? huh? huh? huh? :yup:

now that there are more and more mavericks comming out these days.. you gotta stand out from the cars same cars that were made to be differant... thus the name maverick ;)

Yours is the only one, Derrick. It's the last one left! :D

Your car is awesome, but if it had been mine, the LDO trim would have been the first thing to come off. Like you say, to each his own. That's why we build these cars, to do things our way. (y) Anyone can follow the "crowd"...

All I can say is that I WISH Ford used adhesive on all the the different styles of side trim that was installed on Mavericks ... then we'd all be Happy! If you don't like it a $15 heat gun and an hour of work and it would be gone ....
