    The mav is gone but i'm still here!
    does anyone know how to remove them...the other day @ the junk i triend to remove one but i got so frustated trying to take it off i just messed it up

    a lot of antennas bolt on the underside of the fender.some have a slip nut that goes over the assembly.try to get them from underneath the fender.good luck.

    it has a cover that you can put a small screwdriver under and pop off, the wire gos to back of radio and you can feed it thru the hole on the fender/frame

    If it's the solid mast type pop off the top cover and there are sheet metal screws that hold the base to the fender, at least that's how my 70 was.

    Then you'll need to make sure it's disconnected from the radio and pull the grommet out of the right hinge pillar where the cable goes through. You can then pull the whole cable out from the hinge pillar and then through the hole in the fender.(y)

    The cable comes off from the antenna base, but it gets rusted and won't come off too easy. I used wd40 and a set of pliers. The first one I tried to get at the junkyard I pulled the wires out of the antenna bottom and messed it up.

    mine has 4 screws going straight down to fender....take the screws out....pull the cable off the radio and pull the cable gently through the interior until it comes out the fender

    thats mine at least... 71 mav.... stock antenna...took it off to primer the car
