I changed to disc in ft and the rims naturally are a larger dia
in the center ,I left the original 71 axle in the rear . can I use them in the rear axle also even though the center is larger or should I make a collar so the rim will ride on the axle hub thanks ron

I've run them for years that way(big hole with small axle hub) with no problems. All the aftermarket wheels I've owned had bigger holes than the hubs.

If I remember correctly there are two different way to keep the wheel centered on the hub. You have hub centric and lug centric. If it's hub centric then the hole in the rim fits snuggly to the hub to keep it centered. Lug centric uses the lug nuts to keep the wheel centered.
Does that make sense or am I way off base?
I'd think that as long as the lug nuts are the type that when tightened make the lug nut hole center itself on the lug nuts then it should be fine.
I don't think I've ever seen a hub centric wheel myself just in books.
