actually it does have a 2v carb on it w/a adater.......do still get added power if it still has a 2v carb?...it is a 289 performer manifold
moderate improvement, low end will have more peak torque as it is a better intake, but you will still be limited at higher rpms by the 2bbl carb.
if you got a performer intake on your motor keep it change to a 4 barrel [v means barrel in car talk ]carborater a small one between 500 and 650 cfm's.you will have good powere or go to autozone and get a new rebuilt carb. for a 72 maverick 302 or a 65 comet w/ a 289.
when i do get a 4bbl carb(will a chevy one fit it) what would be the rpm range?cuz i'm getting reddy to get a tach and i was wondering if i should get a 0-6,000 or a 0-8,000
If your motor is all stock and your not planning on doing anything to it internally, get the 6,000. If your planning on doing mods now or down the road, get the 8,000. Auto Zone and Advance Auto have Sun Pro tach's which have been around a long time and are very good for the price in my opinion. I have a Sun Super Tach in our Mav from 1969 and it still works perfect. Don't just buy some cheapo off ebay. One of my friends did and it quit working in like 6 months. If you want to shell out the cash, go Auto Meter. And you probably don't want a Chevy carb anyways.
get an autolite or a holley they are fairly easy to tune in pre- emmisions. quadrajunks suck thats from a chevy owner who just bought a rebuilt one for my pick up./
