I have recieved so much help from you guys, but have been let down this one time. A few weeks back, I bought some bucket seats to replace my bench, and asked for suggestions regarding installing these in a semi-professional manner. I had NO responses to my question Many of you have talked about buying and finding buckets, so I know someone has completed this project. Please, would someone give me hints, suggestion, pictures of completed ones, something, even your ??? My wife has not been for a ride in about a month, since I am waiting for suggestions before mounting the passenger side. Think about how forlorn, saddened, and just plain DEPRESSED she might be... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=15906 Old thread that everyone was too SKEERED to respond to
Mine came with buckets! I can't help you. I'm just gonna go sit on the porch there and watch you figure it out. Seth
Easy Nothing hard. You just turn the bucket over so the hole is down, place it in the car, and the wife is ready to go.
Thanks for the help, especially from littlered and mav-rick. Personally, I like the hole in the bucket facing up, just in case of emergency... MAV GRAB, Are those stock Mav buckets? They look like they fit really nice in there, and match the rest of the interior.
i would suggest using a metal bucket to keep the old car feel. but i got suckered into buying a plastic burning barrel the guy said it would not rust out. i guess someone stole it because after burning the first bunch it was missing from the back yard.
Step 1: Get you a 2x4 Step 2: Get 8 bricks Step 3: Stack 4 bricks on either side of the car, duct tape them to each other and then to the floor Step 4: Set the 2x4 on top of the bricks and duct tape it down. Make sure you use lots of duct tape here so it will be safe in an accident. For seat belts, you can just duct tape yourself to the 2x4. Congrats, you now have a real bench seat that is far superior to any bench or bucket seat that came in the car.
Yuppers, you asked for it. I think why nobody replied is because nobody really knew anything about the seats you were putting in. But, swapping seats is pretty easy if you just sit back and make a good plan, as you now know. Good luck. Dan
i posted a q about the thunderbird seats and got a few responses along the same lines as...try it and see and make some brakcets.... i took a weekend....welded in my new floor boards from a mustang that not too many people had done....and then i manufactured the easiest thing i could with the help of a friend who is the "King of Southern Engineering". believe it or not...but i dint have to make brackets..i just had to raise the front of the seats up...and then drill the holes through the mounting plateso n the bottom of the seats...so i guess i got really lucky.... its all a matter of making waht you need and weld it to fit.... trial and error....but in the end once you are done you have the satisfaction of knowing that you now have custom seats... i dont know if anyone that has electric drivers seat with 4 way motor in there maverick... oh yeah...Me! good luck!
