Hi, I just joined today. I bought my first Maverick in mid-1969. It was the stripped down $1995 model. My second Maverick was a 1976 2-door. It was disappointing. Not nearly as peppy as the older one, which had the 170 cid 6. I now know that the horsepower for the 1976 200 cid was less than the old 170's, and the car was heavier and had automatic transmisison. I bought my third Maverick in the mid '80's. It was a 1973 4-door, and I used it as a second car. I sold it in 1993. I'm looking for a 1971-75 Maverick Grabber or Comet GT in good condition, but not too expensive. I've noticed that more women are on Maverick forums than other collectible or muscle car forums. I feel like I'm in the right place. Roz
Howdy and Dont know about the Maverick being a "chick magnet". The only 2 mine attracted are now ex wives.
