I loved seeing the prototype pics that came up (as they do randomly) when I signed on just then. I see they're loaded by Stef, but not sure if he just uploaded them or not. Not that "I've seen it all' when it comes to Mavericks, but those are a GREAT find. What's the story on them? Who's are they? How did you come about them? Etc? Any other info? Am I reposting? Will Lassie ever find her way home? Thanks, Rick re: http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/search.php?do=searchresults&searchid=46
I believe the pics were on ebay and there was a thread about them on the forum last year. I saved the pictures to my hard drive and I found them by accident when I was cleaning up my computer.
Lassie,oh Lassie!!!!please Come Home Girl!!!I like the mustangy lookin' one i wish they had made that one.

Interesting to look at... I am glad they chose the way they did. You certainly see that a lot of the ideas were recycled into the Pinto project. You also see some 'stuck in the past' designs. The one with quarter scoops is obviously a 68-69 Fairlane that has gone through a shrinking. That was probably nixed because they knew the Torino/Fairlane was going through a redesign at that time, probably right there in the same department. IMO, the Maverick we got has a family resemblance to the 70-71 Torino.
the prototypes were probably done in the mid sixties... Ford had kinda moved away from the straight lines of the Falcons and such by the late sixties. Wish there was a way to find out...
