On Firiday I picked up a set of Spindles off a 1977 Granada. The rotors were already pulled from the car and the calipers were just hanging there from the brake hoses. I took everything along with the lines. My question is I was looking at the spindles when I got home and was wondering there is something missing. The calipers have no way of mounting to the spindle. The mounts are there but there seems to be missing mounting hardware or a bracket or something. There were no other granada's or monarch's in the yard to get a look or to rob off the parts I need. Are these parts I'm missing available as brake hardware or do I have to hit another yard. Maybe someone has a picture of what I am missing. Any Help would be great! Mike
Yeah, they use a two piece bracket for the calipers. Im not where I can take any pics right now, but Ill try to get some snapped tomorrow.
If I'm not mistaken, and that is entirely possible, my calipers bolted directly to the spindles by the way of two bosses made into the spindles. The Granada I got mine off of was a couple of years newer though. Later,
Here's a pic showing the support spring and key. There's also a torx head bolt that goes in to hold them in place. If the vehicle's still there, maybe go back and see if they're still laying on the ground under the vehicle. I've been lucky that way once or twice. Good luck!
Thanks Everyone I took a chance and called the local auto parts and they sell all the little stuff as brake hardware. So I should have what I need. Thanks Again Mike
