There is a console for a Torino ('72-'77) for sale on e-bay right now. I was looking at it wondering if that big ole hairy dude would fit in the Comet. I know there'd be some whittlin' to be done but I like the tall arm rest and the fact that it isn't a floor shift console--allowing me to poke the hole where I want it. Anyone else go trapsing down this same path before? Any idears?

I've seen Granada and '71 Mustang consoles in here but not that one...

Hmmm...you might be on your own here Jeff. I can't say I've ever heard of anyone trying one but you never know. Somebody might pop up here with the answer before you know it. I say "what the heck" go ahead and give it a try even if nobody else replies. An old boss of mine once told me with a cutting torch and a big hammer you can make anything fit... :)

Good luck...and keep the torch real low.

LOL I find the dremel tool to be a bit more subtle and clean...But the torch might work when I get mad at the thing...

I looked at one in a '72 Torino at a show about 3 weeks ago.
It was a 4 spd. console. I suspect that it is too long although
I didn't measure it. I am only guessing that the tranny tunnel
on the Torino is much bigger so it may fit like a 10 gallon hat
    on a 5 gallon head.

Just my $.02. I like the look of it though. I have seen pics in
books of mid 70's T-bird and Cougar consoles that look like they
    might fit.
