Ever since I lost out on an opportunity to buy a Sprint a few years ago, I've been looking for one ever since. Two years ago a guy who knows my dad through his work asked about some parts and information for a Sprint he and his son were working on. Every so often the man would come into my dad's work and give him an update on the Sprint. A couple weeks ago he came in and told my dad that his son lost interest in the Sprint and had been trying to sell it for a few weeks, but there were some flakes looking at it, and others who drove too crazy for him to feel comfortable selling it to them. To make a long story short, I called him and he saved it for me until I got back home from College. I picked it up last Wednesday, but since my camera temorarily died, I figured I wouldn't say anything until I had pics.. I know how much you guys love pics! :bananaman The Sprint has 59,XXX original miles, and is a factory V8/C4 car. It had power steering, but it was taken off some time ago. It has brand new tires, a brand new dual Flowmaster exhaust system, and the front end was rebuilt and lowered slightly. This is the first Maverick I have ever driven home after buying it! It runs great. There is a Holley 4 barrel on an Edelbrock intake, and it has a different air cleaner, and valve covers. It doesn't smoke, knock, or leak, and it sounds great. The C4 shifts smooth and nice, and no slipping or hesitation while shifting into or from gear to gear. It definitly needs to be redone, but it is actually a pretty straight car. The driver's door has been replaced sometime in the past, but everything else is original. The quarters have been touched up, which is why the Sprint emblems are missing on the quarter panels, but there is no bondo or damage to them by the looks of the panels from inside the trunk. The hood is junk, as the lip is rusted out, and the back is pinched where someone lifted the hood too high, or it blew open, and the hinges bent the back edge. I have another rust free stock hood to use on it. The trunk is nice and rust free, and the quarter panels have no rust holes to speak of. The interior is in decent shape, but definitly needs to be redone. The headliner needs to be replaced, and the seats and panels redone. The dash pad has some cracks. The stereo put in will be put into the original location. Well, enough talk... here are the pics! -Corbin
Thanks guys! This is exciting. As far as plans go, it will eventually receive a full restoration, and the original engine will be detailed up, and a mild cam put in. I also want to swap from the front bench to buckets done in the Sprint interior style like Dennis'. I'll swap to a floor shift. The biggest exterior mod will be a Grabber Spoiler because it just plain looks good. The paint will be redone in the original paint scheme/colors. That's the plan for now. -Corbin
