LOOKIN FOR A V8 CROSSMEMBER GOT ANY IDEAS {NEW MEMBER] 1973 comet

Thanks Jim for the welcome I really appreciate it very much. my daughter actually named the car bad comet becaus it used to be grandmas with the ford hubcaps and every one was always making bad comments about the litle blue car. we put on some razor looking mags ans some wide 50's yellow laker traction bars. she said ya now thats a BAD COMET! jUST ORDERED A 302 BEING BUILT IN NJ. 380+HP and an art car c4 tranny with a 2800 stall. I hope they just keep on makin bad comments!

Thanks for the big welcome mavaholic. These little cars are a real adddiction, every time I try to quit smoking I start wanting to buy another maverick or comet! Right know smoking is still just a little bit cheeper but not near as much fun. thanks for the big welcome

thanks for the welcome sorry for not responding sooner. I started this project and just kind of really enjoyed this little blue car. still lookin for a v8 crossmember tryin to have this done enough for my daughter to drive it to school in august. she really want to send those boy with their rice burners back to the garage is rethink their rice packed muffler systems. once again thanks for the big welcome.

I ran my car for 20 years without a V8 crossmember. Just don't leave out the upper shock tower braces.

thanks for the info on the ve crossmember. i just bought a 75 maverick that didn,t have a cross member and had the top shock tower mounts in it and the shock tower collapsed. although it had a 351 in it. I was just worried about my comet. the new motor is a full roller 302 with about 390 hp. and an art var tranny. i got the 8in. rear with alimited slip or mini spool lookin to go with around a355or 370 rear. just wanted to be safe rather than sorry. what are you pushen in your mav.? I tend to agree with you It looks asthough it should work with out the crossmember. just want to be sure. I like the color of your car my comet is about the same color blue.
