i took the heads off today....i will clean up the exhaust ports for now...and take everyone's advice and save for the aftermarket heads...

the CC looks real good...a little carbon but not bad at all... they are shaped kinda heart shaped and they are stamped D5OE. 75...pre huge chambers...

anyone have the exact CC size??

if anyone has done the porting at home and has some real good pictures...so i know what i am looking for as an end result...please email them to me stmanser@cox.net

    thanks everyone...

based on my rebuild book the heads are 75-76 58.2cc with 1.78 intake and 1.45 exhaust valves. There is also a side note that says "Internal Air-Injection Ports".

This comes from my "How To Rebuild Small-Block Ford Engines" from HPBOOKS.
    ISBN 0-912656-89-1

I picked it up at borders for less that 20 bucks. Has a lot of cross reference numbers.
I also have the interchange book too, but it wasnt clear on the casting numbers.

You say they are kinda heart shaped? They should look like the C9 heads if they are the 58cc type, chamber kinda makes a v around the spark plug. If the chamber is circular around the spark plug going all the way out near the edge of the head gasket, that is the open chamber around 69ccs.

best bet is to check the chamber volume yourself. syringe and water, gas, whatever.

80's Mustangs had 64cc chambers officially, 90% of them when checked were actually 58cc.
