I had a 74 Maverick 250 six 4 door for 14 years that I put 120,000 miles on top of the original 44,000 miles. When my three kids could not fit the back seat I sold it and got a van. Seven years ago when I was looking for another car, a friend heard about a Comet GT for sale. After seeing how good it looked and ran I bought it. Mostly haven't done much to it but has been quite reliable. Besides the occasional tuneup, tires, and brakes, I had to replace the timing chain, water pump, and alternator while having put 40,000 miles on it. Good to find a group where I can get incentive to fix it up since a Suburban turned in front of me (replaced hood) and the drivers door was messed up when it was backed into in a parking lot. The interior is starting to fall apart. Major nuisance is the transmission not going into park very well (Mercury remedy-sticker for dashboard). Pictures to come. DSinclair
