Well it is time to start gathering up all the parts and make a Maverick.:bouncy:
I have the 1970 6cyl which has the least amount of rust and body work
needed just a lot of updating, ie 5-lug front disc, rear, plus a 302 build up.
then there is the 1973 grabber that needs a passenger floor replacement
that is a 5-lug V-8 car. I currently have a grabber hood to go onto one of
the cars but which one:hmmm: . As I only have a 24x24 garage the other mavericks will have to stay out in the weather:eek: . I am leaning toward the 70 as it seems to be the fastest one to get done. I have a total of 3 complete disc brake systems so that isn't a problem and I also will have 3 302's by the end of next week. I also have 2 complete clutch pedal assemblies, but I am still tring to figure out if I want to go with old school 4 speed(which I have T-10) or move up to the newer 5 speed's(Mo money Mo money).
    Any suggestions.
    Robert

If it were me, I'd be inclined to build the 70 first with all the "play" add ons of high HP, 4 or 5 speed and disc brakes, Grabber hood too.

Then, once the "build it mean" bug is out of my system, I would restore the 73 Grabber to factory perfect for show and shine.

You would end up with a playtime Grabber and a real 73 factory beauty. Best of both worlds. Just my :2cents:

70 but I'd spend the $$ and go with a 5 speed. The T10 aint the best trans. Usually the syncros are worn out and makes them jump out of gear.

I am also going to make an offer on a 73 6-cyl maverick this weekend has surface rust
and some interior repair but other wise it is in good shape. Thinking about leaving it
all original and using that as a daily driver to work and around town. Dang F250 gets 15 to the gallon.

Do like I did-Start 'em both and see how many parts get mixed up.Or do 1 at a time so you don't end up with 2 or 3 half a$$ed unfinished projects...like I am:clap: .

    Light is right.

Given your dilemma I'd take the 70 for the cool factor and the weight diff. But with 3 complete brake systems and three 302's it's going to go like hell and stop the same way. Where are you going to sit?

My wife wants to know "how old is his daughter?" Her great-grandmother drove our 74 Mav during her childhood, and she thinks your daughter must be her age (my wife's age, not her great-grandmother's). All 3 are beautiful cars with potential. Looks like the white one is pretty much there....
