    Hey DMHines,

You mentioning a Stallion clone, made me remember that my uncle took it down to metal before he started his body work. He said that my car had a pinstripe that went down the front fenders, but instead of the way I had him put a stripe on, he said the pinstripe was on top of the fender, and it stayed on top of the crease that our cars have, going down the doors, right through where the door handles are, then when it got to our triangle-shaped windows behind the doors, it turned upward (following the lines of the boomerang), went up onto the roof and followed the line of the chrome trim that was on the roof, because my car also originally had a halo vinyl roof. The vinyl was white, as was the pinstripe, the trim going down the side of the car had white vinyl also. He also said that on the hood, the center part (the part that is kinda bulged above the rest of the hood) had a pinstripe around it, and the bulge part was white. He said the original color of my car was almost a
    Turquoise blue.

Anyone seen a Maverick originally painted like that?

He also said that my car had 4 paintjobs (most of them were shades of blue), and 4 primer coats in it's lifetime. He sanded it all down by hand.

    Later,
    Eric

If your car had trim on the side with white vinyl inserts it must have been and LDO ... was the trim 1/2" wide or more like 2" wide?

Yeah.... at $15 per hour. Cheap in my opinion. I gave it to him with two months before the car show that I was supposed to debut it at.

There were places that he would come across, and didn't want the build-up to be too bad, like between the fenders and cowl. He could still see some old primer, so he'd take the fender off and fix that spot. Most of the time, the fenders ended up fitting back on better after he took them off.

He treated it like it was his car. He also had alot of people come by the shop while he was working on it, just to watch. He said if he'd had the title, he would've sold it. Some of that "uncle humor" I hope.....
