I am gonna be selling my 74' maverick this summer and was wondering what a fair price would be.

I understand, engine, year, options, original parts, etc...

but im confused when i look at ebay and see one falling apart and selling for $2,000 or so, then one that is just a little worse for only $600!

    Any ideas?
Also, I was in process of converting interior from white to black and never finished (wish i could keep the car  ). But now that i must sell, should I finish the conversion or sell as is? I guess selling "as is" would be a better idea so i dont waste the money and could sell it for less to the purchaser?

    Thanks in advance!
(btw im not asking to name a price, lol, i mean what exactly goes into the price?!?!)

i think 3 of the biggest things that affect price, not including vehicle condition, is wether it's a 2 or 4 door car, does it have big or small bumpers, and is it a v8 or 6 cylinder. btw yous looks pretty nice, sorry you have to get rid of it.:)

Where are you located? Where the car spent most of it's life has an impact on it's value due to potential rust. Bucket seats -vs- bench has an impact.

well if that is the pic of the car you are selling.....and if i assume that the interior looks as good uo close as i can see in the picture....and i dont see any obvious damage...i am guessing that it runs good....and is mechanially sound...

i would say start out at $2500 to $4000 OBO to start....

you could always get it appraised..... costs like $100 around here.... but it could get you a few more bucks...

NICE CAR< cannot imagine , even with added maintainence of cleaning a white interior why you'd take that beautiful white interior out of that car, That is exactly the color my Comet is, I am planning on qoing to a white or off white or dove grey interior with my car
I've always liked a Blue or Red exter with White interior, Naugahide or Leather. wish I coudl buy it, I'd like to have matching years, of a Comet and a Maverick.

KEEP THE WHITE INTERIOR!!!! Black interiors are boring in my opinion. (sorry guys) They seem to hide details. Light colors bring out the details. Always look much better. Sorry you have to sell, it looks like a really nice car. IT looks like there's a left exhaust pipe sticking out so I'm going to guess its a V8. Just my opinion, but if it looks as good as the picture and runs decent, I'd guess its worth at least $2800-$3500. Thats not saying you can't get more.

haha yea but i had the white for so long it was a bitch to maintain and all that.

Yes its v8, 2 door, bucket seats, located in VA for most if not all of it's life. The engine isn't the prettiest thing, but it runs well, etc...

    thanks for the help guys

In the end that car is MORE valuable with the white interior.

Appears the color of the interor has an impact to the pricing also. I would pay more for the white--keeping it clean would be fuuuun!:2cents:

Dont forget location of the car when trying to sell them. Cars that would sell for $2000 in Missouri will only sell for $1000 in Montana because of the drive involved and not much interest in Mavericks in places like Montana.

Could you please post your door tag information? I'm curious ... WHITE was not an available interior color in 1974 in either a Maverick or a Comet as far as I can tell. It definitely is not shown as an option on the 1974 Brochures ...
