    '74 Vacuum diagram

    Dave,
I have the '74 Ford Shop manual, what exactly are you trying to figure out? I have a '77 vac diagram also. I spent some time looking things up for the '74. I also have the Chiltons, Petersons, and Motor books that cover that year.(y)

Thanks for the reply. I actually need to know the entire underhood vac. set up. Nothing was right when I got it from the head being taken off to free the valves. so when I broke it down to check everything out I didn't bother seeing where anything was then. I knew most of it was incorrect to begin with. one of the main things is the vac. to make the vent switches work. I only get air out the defrost slots no matter the position of the switch. This is a 250 auto, a/c, power steering, manual brakes, 2dr, 74 I have the chiltons as well but a lot of their stuff is generic and not specific to even the cars the book is on. I have seen many illustrations of GM cars in ford Chilton books over the years.

    Thank You Mark

Now another vacuum related problem. who can point me to where the problem may lie in my heater/AC/vent system, I only get air out the defrost vents. Also anyone who may have a 74 vacuum schematic I would still appreciate that. The 75 should be close but I would feel better with the 74 just to be sure.

You have a vacuum leak in the AC system. The "default" position is DEFROST. Check out the vacuum canister behind the shock towwer on the passenger side. See if it is leaking. It looks like a tin soup can. Mine was leaking on the 1973 4-door and I used some silicon sealant to fix the leak. Cured the probelm of "Defrost Only" for me.

    250 A/C vacuum diagram

I have some diagrams in the Ford Service Manual for the '74. I would have to copy them somewhere and mail them to you.

Contact me off forum at rebade1@yahoo.com with exactly which diagrams to parts you need and your address. I will try to find them and send them to you.

    Regards,
