I've run both Autolites and NGK's well past 100,000kms and only changed them 'cause I couldn't believe they were still firing. These were just your everyday standard plugs. Whatever you do don't waste your coin on Splitfires, they don't work.
Yea, I have always run Autolites or Motorcraft, just thought someone might know of a better one. Is there a platnum available?
As long as you still have the factory '73 heads, Autolite AP45 or APP45's are what you're looking for. AP45 are standard platinum and APP45 are double platinum. These came out of my older catalogue so hope the part numbers are still current.
I have always been told to run the Motorcraft plugs if the engine is completely stock, and have been doing just that for a while now and it runs great. I am going to pull them out tomarrow to see what they look like since the Mav has been on the road for 3,300 miles now since the top end/carb rebuild.
