Well, I got excited last night and put a battery on the mav just so I could atleast see the lights on. Well, I know the battery is good, I hooked it up and I had no power to the inside of the car at all via multimeter. I am thinking I might have pulled 1 to many wires when I was pulling the wires for the alt and voltage regulator. I have slept a few days since I did that tho and need some help. I have 4 wires running to the battery, one is tan or orange and is a fusible link that runs to the pos side of the solenoid Red/green wire runs to I on solenoid Red/Blue wire runs to S on solenoid White/Blk wire has a small square clip on the end and has no home. Does this sound right? I'm a ways from having it running but I figure I might aswell get the bug fixed right now then later. Thanks
Got power to the solenoid on the large red wire. if not the fusible link is blown. the solenoid is only used to apply power to the starter because the ignation switch cant handle the current load. So you have no power going to the key switch on the column. Looking at my 1974 electrial diagrams at the switch a wire comes from the rewgulator called (904 LG-R) and goes to the key switch and ties into the connector with a wire called (297 BK-LG H) if i read this right. robert
Hmm, what I was really questioning is that the wire with the fusible link the wire that carries voltage into the car.I will check sunday on the wires going to the column if I have any juice there.
Well, I guess I was wondering if anyone can confirm the wires that hook up to the battery and solenoid.?? If they are the only ones
The diagram show 4 wires http://www.maverickcomet.com/defaultCookies.asp?T=105216491&LOC=/Wiring/Wiring.asp&FR=3&BD=1&Offset=360
Well, I figured someone has to have an extra mav or comet layin around that they could look at.... (sarcasm) Thanks tho
