After I put the transmission in I Took it out and cruised around but it started overheating:rolleyes: I put a new T stat in and good to go again. If hot rodding was easy...........................I would be less stressed :biglaugh: and everybody would be doing it. The only set back is I am about 2 weeks behind scheldue on my brothers Maverick now.

Well, don't feel bad. I have a friend's 4 wheeler here to be repaired (LT4WD suzuki...no spark) and I've been working on my SVO for the past 2 weeks nonstop. I will say, though, that working with the SVO makes you appreciate older cars, much easier to work with. Even as much as we swear at our Mavericks and how bad it is to get the headers in, it is just a walk in the park compared to playing with early EFI turbo motors. I have gotten it up and running, and running quite well...considering that EFI is still very new to me. You wouldn't believe the difference between factory 2 1/4" exhaust and turbo-back 3" exhaust. Night and day....

What would be neat is a Turbo 2.3 stuffed into a Maverick chassis. Believe me, don't let the lack of displacement scare you away....these things will make serious power with minimal effort. Mine (as it sits...stock everything except exhaust) will easily keep up with my old black '84 GT 5 speed..which was a mild built 302 roller everything and ti valves. Now--on to upping the fuel pressure and boost. Right now it's only at 12 psi.

Mavman I owned an 88 t-Bird Turbo coupe I got down in to the high 13s. I had an turbonetics t3 hybrid turbo with ceramic bearings. Had the intake manifdold and exhaust manifold extrude honed. I made a 3 inch down pipe that split into 2.25 daul exhaust. I think I ended up with 52 pound injectors running a modest 22lbs boost. I loved that car but all the clutch replacements got old:) So I feel your pain:D

Oh yea I ran a pump from a mustang Cant remember the flow but it was the biggest LPH in tank pump at the time
