    any tips on removing glue from vinyl top?

    solvent and a scraper... being careful not to gouge the metal and paint. but then again it will need re painted probably...

    take your time... sanding it off will only gum up the glue and heat the metal and possibly causing warpage...

    Chuck, do you have a store there or just mail order? I live in s.e. ohio and thought about swinging up there some time and checkihg it out. do you have a yard full of parts cars?? sorry, not trying to hijack the thread..


    I used a 4"grinder with a sanding disc to remove mine.. make sure you wear a mask..ha ha;)

    No, no storefront, and unfortunately, I live in a subdivision so I strip parts cars and have to hulks hauled away. I wish I could have kept them all over the years, but I'd need a junkyard or a HUGE building. If you make an appointment and want to see something specific, get with me by direct email and we can work it out. I have NOS and used parts in stock, and SOME reproduction stuff, but depending on what repo part you may be interested in, I just order them as I need them, especially the expensive items. I have used the repo vinyl tops on one of my own cars and found it to be an excellent reproduction. It is primarily cut to fit, but still requires trimming. I used a solid white one and it held up very well, even on a daily driver. I have many colors available. I can even get some of the REALLY rare colors like the orange on the rare orange and white Grabbers from 73-74.
