    pull?!?!

    try:huh:
    1 all motor/tranny mounts attached
2 unhook a motor mount from it's bracket
3 jack up that side of block
4 remove that header down under around and out
    5 reattach that motor mount
6 repeat process on other side

we couldn't even pull a 302 out of my 76 parts car using a bobcat because STOCK exhaust was in the way. saw a junkyard pro throw an 8 ft pry bar through a windshield on this job.

i figure if i had to put exhaust on in this fashiion, i'd have to take it off in this way. (302+headers)

To make room to install/remove my headers I loosen the motor mount bolts from the block and put a small hydraulic bottle jack between the inner apron and the block. Jack it 1" to 2", just enough to be able to move the headers.

I'm trying to remove the engine not the headers. the headers are whats stopping me from removing the engine.

ya may have to uninstall the headers to pull the motor.
