I still need to install the new plug wires and clean up the wire routing a little but I had to get the car out of the garage tonight (wife's orders). Am I going to have problems with water splashing on the box with it down that low? Oh wait, If I don't drive it in the rain...

The instructions said i'd need a tach adapter with a sun tach but it seems to be working just fine without one. Anybody had to buy one of those for their tach?

I dont think you will have any problems with it mounted there. Looks good, anyways, it never rains in the midwest.

Yeah, I've got the 6000 rpm chip in it, but it's actually on the bottom. I was concerned initially about it vibrating out, but it's pretty tight, and i've got the anti-vibration mounts for the box, so I think it will be fine. That thing on top is a cover for an adjustment, I can't remember offhand what it is for.

i'll have to check next time i take the hood off and see if mine is upside down as the chip is on the top. i remember a circle track racer had one that was on the bottom and came loose so he siliconed it in. that stopped it from coming out. :)

The thing on top is to select between use on 4 - 6 - 8 cylinders. The RPM chip is on the opposite side (bottom)

Yeah, the box is mounted several inches from the frame rail, so it's not too hard to reach down and pull the chip out. I confess I did install the chip before I mounted the box though. ;)

they are water proof i believe.... i have the mSD 6.... didint get the limiter since i have an automatic and i know when to shift...

but the tachometer question you asked.... i have a tach and i plugged it directly into the box where it says to plug it into ....and it works just fine....not sure of what you mean by an adapter....unless you mean the little wire clip that plugs into the terminal on the box for the tach

hey stmanser, i must be the exception to the rule as i use an automatic too, but i've missed a shift and hit the rev limiter a number of times. oops.:)

that's okay, i was only joking with you. but i was serious about the missed shifts. once the shifter went into neutral, and another time it didn't go all the way in to gear. also at the last race my tach quit and got on the limiter in first gear real quick. my chip is a 7200, don't think i want to go much higher.:)

    a dumb story

the only shift i missed went like this.

    1 rough day at work.
add to this 1 hot mav.
subtract from this a broken gear indicator light on a b&m hammer shifter.

end result: running full throttle in drive (thought i was locked in 2nd), and ending up in nuetral, OUCH!:tsk:

My jacobs box has no rev limit so this was totally UNCOOL. no harm done. though i'm sure it sounded hella cool to the guys hangin out outside at work

    this was off topic. opps.:hmmm:
