It has served me well ... bought it about 7 years ago as a home depot refurb. Since my lawn is half done I'll be heading out this afternoon for a new one so I can finish the lawn ....

I have wanted a new mower for several years just can't bring myself to replace my trusty 78' John Deere 214 Rider. They just don't make them like that anymore.

    This would be nice though

I bought a returned Troy-built from Lowes about 8 months aga. Got a killer deal on it also. It's a 42" cut with an Intek 18.5 Briggs. Talked them down to $750 since it had 88 hours on it. The fellow that bought it was leaving the key on running down the battery and running up the hours. At least that's what I think. The blades still had the factory edge on them and looks like it was hardly used.
Go to lowes or HD and check out the mowers down on the end that have been returned. Never hurts to haggle price.
Mine is running good still though it aint no John Deere. It's good enough for my yard.

I think a lawn mower bring being pushed by a 14-year old neighborhood boy and asking for $15 is the best mower for my yard.

Just bought a new Troybuilt mower at Lowes ... neither Home Depot or Lowes and any refurbs or clearance today ... and picked up a $400 5HP Honda pressure washer for $230 while I was there out front on clearance ..

If you don't have one, I have an engine hoist you can borrow. Let me know.

I thought there for a minit this was turning into a " whats the best mower" thread! So - what is the best mower? Whats the biggest wheel that will fit on a snapper? J/K

Now that's funny right there; I don't care who you are. Lord, forgive Dave and bless all the pygmies in New Guinea.

Whats the best Mower? I have a 36' Murray rider from around 1979, on it's 3rd engine and still going.

Our Snapper is from the late 60's, on it's 2nd engine and does wheelies. :)

You need a second or 3rd hand swapping engines, let me know. Cumming is just a hop and a skip away, I've swapped 3 engines on my own, and I'll look for any excuse to get out and drive the Maverick.
