Does anyone know if it is possible to fit a 4.6 DOHC engine into the compartment of a 72 Maverick Grabber?

Sure it is possible, but definitely not an easy task. Shock towers would have to go.

Was considering RC Motorsports complete mustang 2 system. This eliminates shock towers?

    Any other suggestions appreciated!

The 4.6 is wider across the top than a 460. If I were to put either in a Maverick, I would convert to a Mustang II suspension. Then, you could put whatever you wanted in there...except a Chevy.

That would be a cool swap. Should fit with the M2 front suspension, though get ready for lots of work. It ain't exactly a walk in the park, but in the end...well worth it!

Probably going to do it! Ford Racing has a great deal on this motor w/ trans. Complete set up. I believe for around $5500. Will be posting pics and progress. Will know in about 2 more weeks if I'm going to try this set up.

I saw that setup in a 65-66 mustang yesterday at Fun Ford Weekend. He had done the MII suspension conversion and had made new flat, flush, very clean, fender aprons. That engine slap-dabbed filled the engine bay.
