Since there was some interest in Corbin's roof repair(It looks great Corbin) I figured I would add my two cents in. Our Mav had a vinyl top that had been removed before we got it. Someone had also attempted to cover the rust with a lot of bondo. The result was a golfball size hole above the windshield and a large weak spot above the rear window. The remainder of the top had more rust pitting. We neautralized the pitting just as Corbin suggested but with a diffrent named product. (I don't recall the name) We also cut out the weak spots and holes with a plasma cutter and welded in new sheet steel. Today we sot the primer surfacer on it and fogged on the guide coat to start block sanding tomorrow. I do hope the rust neutralizing stuff works long term, the only other alternative was to replace the top. Here are some pics.

Hi Greg; Looks like your doing a great job on that shell. I'm just slightly behind you, in terms of progress on my car. I had to replace the battery box panel and its counterpart on the opposite side. I wondered if you had any shots of your engine bay that showed one side or the other a little more clearly (i.e., straight on). I'm still unclear just how I should finish off the seams of the new panels and am looking to see how others have done this. Your nicely chopped shock towers also look deserving of a closer look. Nice work! Any help appreciated. Thanks and congrats. John B.

Looks really good! Nice towers. Going with a 351, I assume. Should be very nice. Your roof looks really good. When I took off my vinyl top, I was expecting a little rust, but having practically the whole roof pitted was a major letdown. I thought the Mav was off the the junkyard, but fortunatly, the bodyshop said, no problem. I still can't believe how bad it was. Your whole Mav looks great. Can't wait to see it done!

Thanks Corbin. I am not sure that a 351 is for sure in the future but I figured I would make this mod now just in case. We also have redrilled the towers for the shelby drop. But the best thing we have going right now is the hood. Check out the pic.
