OK, Ive seen that everyone has had trouble running dual tail pipes. I just had my exhaust done, but they dumped it at the axle because of lack of space on the left side due to the fuel sender. I see that some of you with earlier cars have used Mustang Tanks, but it appears that my setup is different. So what is the final solution, or is everyone modifying for the Mustang tank?
dual exhaust I have a 74 comet put 2 1/4 dual exhuast, when i get a change will put on lift and get pictures. pipes run along trans tunnel then spread just in front of axle they run 2" inside springs over axle straight out the back. hope this helps will have pics asap.
here chris tell the guy to do it this way.... if you can get about 2 prebend mandrel bends you can really get it to work nicely... if you wanna wait until after knotts i might be able to get you a X pipe like that for cheap though magnaflow. here are some pics i can't wait to hear it.. did you go with 2 chambers or 3? btw you get my e-mail about the brakes?
i had my exhaust go over the axle and routed out the rear corners just below the rear valance at the outer most corners..... 2 1/4" pipe...and it looks pretty good..
Cab; that is correct. I have a 69.5 with dual exhaust, 2 1/4" pipes, and it was a challenge to get it to clear, but the exhaust guy did a good job.
I have got a 74 with the original tank. I am runing 2.25 duals and it can clear if you got a good exhuast shop.
My 74 has the original tank and I ran 2 1/2" pipe out the back. It is a very tight fit but the guy who did my exhaust is really good. This isn't the best picture of it but it's tucked up there pretty tight. Oh yeah, it is a 74, it just has been converted to 73 bumpers in case anyone was wondering. Jason
