Ok, So, I was at the gas pump and this guy pulled up in a big Chevy truck and asked if I wanted to sell my Mav. I politely declined, stated that I had just gotten it myself. He asked me what I paid and I told him 1600. Then he said "How'd ya like to make a quick profit?" and then he offered my 3000...Well, I guess I really love my new ride, because I told him "No Thanks" Now keep in mind that I haven't done any body work to it yet..I guess It is offical....I am a true Maverick nut. But I mean, come on, he was drivin' a Chevy!?!?
awwww..... he was just trying to improve his image... if you see him again, ask if the offer still stands...3 grand can buy you a nice mav...unless of course yours is a sweet grabber.
You will probably get alot of that type stuff. You never know, somebody might really want one so I always keep info on me of cars I know for sale. If they sound serious I give them the info. Dan
Its funny for some reason the African- Americans in my area seem to always want to buy my car. One guy whipped out 5k in cash (can you say drug dealer) it was in $5s, $10s, and $20s, it looked like 20 grand that way It was my first car and my last unless it gets wrecked and isn't repairable or even worse stolen. No amount of money can buy it. Its just the principle of the whole thing, you know what I mean.
My car was at a local service station for it's State inspection while I was at work one day. The inspection only takes a short time, so it was parked in the yard most of the day. When I went to pick it up that afternoon, the station owner told me he could have sold the car several times over. He said people stopped just to inquire about the car. It's pretty cool, but I'll never sell.
yeah some times i wonder if i'm crazy too. i was offered like $500 buck for my ugly yellow/green maverick not even running. thats was like pure profit.... but no i kept it. and then some other person i keep seeing at cars shows always asking about my car. one day said he just said he sold his old car and wanted something differant offered me 25k for my bule car . i thought this guys was but he wasn't. must be nice to have that kind of cash just ready to blow! that was a hard one to say no too... well i never told him no.. i just never called him back... the cars means to much to me i guess. to be honest i don't think anyone in their right mind would pay that much for a maverick!
Some people look at our cars and say "What is it" others say "I used to have one of those" One time, we were returning home from a car show and got stopped in a traffic jam on the highway due to a bad accident ahead. The trucker next to us said "Nice car, you wouldn't want to sell it, would you?"
