Any ideas on where to mount a tach? I'm not a fan of mounting it on the column or on top of the dash. My '73 has the tach mounted just above the vent (see picture). This is how it was when I bought it and want to move it. Hmm....not many other places. Any have ideas?

Great idea, How about retrofitting a heads up display from a Corvette or Gand Prix! Now that would be cool!

a small 2 inch tach fits between the speedo and gas/blinker/lights on the column, slightly off center.

Most people don't even notice it. it just looks like it belongs there.

Black interior and black tach, your milage may vary...

If I could fit a small tach on the column, it wouldn't be to bad. But after looking at the other thread, I got some GREAT ideas. It just takes more :2cents::2cents:.

Alot of folks don't like the column mounted tachs because one of the best ways to secure them to the column is with a hose clamp. This works well, but leaves a little to be desired in the "looks" department. I got around this in my original Mav by taking the hose clamp and sliding a piece of heat-shrink tubing over all but a few of the threads of the clamp, and then heating it up and shrinking it. It really makes a difference in the appearence of the clamp, and it's incredibly cheap and easy! (y) (y) (y)

    Just another alternative,
